Pathfinding Resource

Description: Pathfinding Resource for Children of the Poor

One particular focus of Delta Communities Counseling Services is to serve as a Pathfinding Resource in mental-health service for children of the poor. The ultimate model DCCS desires to establish is “People Helping People” in  mental health.

The most effective intervention for the poor is when the agent of healing is the poor themselves. Poor families often access resilience in their religious faith and/or church. There is as well a network of understanding and compassion in poor communities.  A way for families to sustain achieved success is to share with other
families possibility and learned skills.

As the coordinator for Health Ministry of St. Anthony's Church in Oakley, James A. Erickson, D.Min., MFT will  “pathfind” a process to assist the organization, focusing on the Spanish-speaking community.
