Experience and Hospitality
James A. Erickson, D.Min., MFT, has been in the field of Human Services for forty years. I have a varied background in Ministry, Mental-Health, and Counseling, specializing in working with children  and culturally diverse communities.

In collaboration with Children and Youth Services of Mental Health and the Human Services Agency, I  established the Foster Care Assessment and Treatment Process (FCAT) . It was one of the first programs of its kind and pioneered in the State collaborative assessments for foster children and youth. I managed that program until my retirement in 2010. Its clinical staff gained the respect of the County Department of Mental Health, the Human Services Agency, and the Juvenile Dependency Court System.

Prior to that, I was Intake Coordinator for one of the State’s original hospital-diversion residential programs for youths, assessing youth at  Juvenile Halls and Hospitals throughout the State. I also was a priest and pastor for fifteen years.

Meanwhile, I started a small nonprofit agency that has offered free or low-cost counseling to the Spanish-speaking community and is now exploring  micro loan programs to help the poor.
I open my doors to the community who can avail of my experience and service.
Please contact me at (925) 366-3644 to arrange for services.

Thank you!
